History of the House
The apartments are in the "Kusheleva Apartment House," built in the early 20th century in the style of classicism. One of the famous tenants of this house nowadays is Boris Grebenshchikov. A hundred years ago many organizations were located here - publishing house "Blago", printing house of Denisov and Stupnikov (printing leaflets of socialist revolutionaries), magazine "Ladies' World". The house hosted meetings of the Russian Literary Society. In 1903, the magazine New Way, founded by Merezhkovsky and Gippius, had its editorial office. Briusov V.Y., Balmont K.D., Bely A., Ivanov V.I. were published in the magazine. In 1913-1918. - The editorial board of the magazine New Satyricon, which was headed by Averchenko. V.V. Mayakovsky, Sasha Cherniy, L.N. Andreev, A.I. Kuprin, A.S. Grin were published in it.
